Did you know, many of the under-verandah street lights in Avondale belong to the Avondale Business Association.  This comes from a very old-time contract between local business associations and the Council.  Avondale is one of the few organisations that continues to maintain street lighting for its businesses, as well as pay for the power used.

In 2022, we replaced the lights with LED lights and fittings.  This creates a more diffuse and brighter light and keeps our town centre safer.

We continue to add lights to the street for greater safety and beautification, and to add your night lights onto our grid.
